The first photos are released of classrooms, training and social areas at the Medway Campus, as work gets underway on fitting out the interior of the £86million building ready for students to take up residence this September.

Welcome to the MidKent College Medway Campus!

As the Reception Pavilion, East and Central Wings are handed over to MidKent College, work has begun on fitting out the interiors of the new Medway Campus in Gillingham.

Innovative design coupled with the latest technology is what's on offer at the brand new Campus, opening to students in September 2009. Departments were consulted individually to ensure their requirements for industry-standard equipment, modern computer facilities and spacious working areas were all accommodated.

Furniture and fittings will be delivered from late May onwards, but these images show the latest developments at the site on Prince Arthur Road. The Medway Campus is replacing the two current MidKent College centres at Horsted and City Way, with all courses held at these sites transferring to the new facilities. The West Wing and Performance Pavilion are due to be handed over in the coming months, and staff and students are getting ready to move into this modern learning environment, set to become the heart of further education in Medway.
